Watts Towers

Interesting spot...


Watts Towers.. oddly look very similar to the bizarre art installation in Imlay NV Thunder Mountain.


There are 17 interconnected towers with hearts weaving throughout them. The hearts really stood out to me.



It's like this beautiful little village inside one of the most dangerous districts in Los Angeles.



It did have a fence surrounding it but the neighborhood around it was relatively well maintenance and friendly. I was talking cars with some guys outside, Honda owers. A young man was kicking a soccer ball against a wall. 



 
I'd say overall the Towers are a good cultural spot. You can take the Metro up from El Segundo or drive.



3 blocks over it was much tougher. I would not wander.

Financier Ross Stevens Threatens Rescind $100 M Gift Unless Magill Ousted

 Continuing yesterdays discussion on free speech on college campuses, after Rep Elise Stefanik's grilling of Penn president Liz Magill went viral, founder and chief executive officer of Stone Ridge Holding Group, announced to Penn he would rescind  $100 million gift if university did not replace Magill.  According to WSJ sources, some board members met virtually after meeting with Ross due to the evolving controversy, although no formal vote was cast. Most attendees were overwhelmingly supportive of Magill according to WSJ.  However, there is growing public criticism from both left and right against all three presidents involved in yesterdays panel to congress.
