Green Heron's are crafty, secretive. They drop bait to lure. These solitary hunters are found in freshwater, marine areas, lakes, rivers, and stalk from the edge, waiting for just the right moment to strike.
They definitely avoid nesting in crowds and enjoy only one partner. They camouflage and are hard to find.
These are a favorite among bird watchers.
